This website contains a collection of writing I have done for my college first-year writing class.

We started the class by responding to some articles and videos. I wrote an essay responding to Carol Dweck's "The Power of Believing You Can Improve" and another one responding to Mary Louise Pratt's "The Arts of the Contact Zone."

The majority of the semester was devoted to an immersion experience, in which we explored an area of interest to us. My feature article is a narrative looking at the lives of FOCUS missionaries. My argument is a persuasive research essay looking at the benefits of FOCUS.

Finally, instead of doing a midterm and final exam, I wrote two reflections on what I have learned and experienced midway through and at the end of this class.
